Are Crows Considere Pests and Why

Each of us at least once had a chance to see in many gardens “scarecrow” that the peasants are set in order to frighten crows or other birds from their properties. Crows help men to waste collection, but also catch various insects during their invasion, though these birds are considered pests. They act as the most skilled thieves. Not only do they steal eggs from the nests of other birds, but often their young. However, most damage crows causing on crop yields, because they eat the sown seeds and destroy crops. This is the reason why we consider them pests.

Black Crow is about 50 cm long, and besides feathers, legs and beak are also black. This is very capable bird, with strong wings and sharp beak. It feeds on all kinds of seeds, fruits, grains, eggs, insects, and even fresh meat provided by the killing other animals. Sometimes the crow bravely attack hawks or owls as their permanent enemies, so artificial hawks and owls are used as bait to attract crows.

During this period, the flocks are distributed, but as soon as youth learns to fly, they are once again gathering in a flock. During winter days, sometimes you can see all the flock in one place. During the day are in the hunt, and in the evening return to sleep in the group.

All crows have very good eyesight and hearing. They fly in large flocks or maim, and thus much easier to perceive the danger that threatens them. It is believed that crows are very intelligent.
