Fact: Saudi Arabia water problem – Because of the shortage of drinking water the world is threatened by wars. UN data shows that in a particularly difficult position is the Arab world – in the Middle East and in northern Africa where five per cent of the planet’s population with only 0.9 percent of world water reserves. In the next 20 years Saudi Arabia will completely run out of water.

Fact: Drinking water – Water covers about 71 percent of the surface of our planet, but only two percent of all water resources belong to drinking water. Apart from the fact that fresh water is is only 2% of all water, it is difficult to reach. Only one-third of the drinking water is easily accessible to people.

Fact: Water supplies – The world’s drinking water supplies drastically diminish as the demand for it grows. According to UN data, water consumption by 2025 will be increased by 58 percent compared to current consumption. That means 1.2 billion people in the world (ie 14% of the world’s population) by 2025 will have no access to drinking water.

Drinking waterFact: 500.000 children – Every year, due to the lack of drinking water, 500.000 children under 5 years of age die… Everyday, due to the lack of potable water and hygiene conditions, there are at least 1,400 children dying in the world, according to UNICEF. For example, in Nigeria, nearly 70 million people are without drinking water, and 110 million without adequate hygiene and sanitary conditions. Because of the lack of potable water and hygienic conditions, dysentery usually results in death.

Fact: Afrcia – In Africa people spend 40 billion hours a year in search of drinking water. In Africa, about 35 percent of people do not drink clean water, and 40 percent of them do not have the proper sanitary node. Every year, the number of people who do not have access to drinking water increases by 83 million.

For example, one 28-year-old in California died after drinking six liters of water in three hours at the contest.

Fact: Every hour, a healthy kidney can drain from 0.5 to 1 liter of water, which means that a person may drink from 0.5 to 1 liter of water per hour without experiencing problems.

Fact: Water is the source of life – or not? Even 85 percent of all diseases in the world is transmitted through water. Every year, 25 million people die of these diseases.

Fact: At the loss of 20 percent of water the man dies. It is interesting that need for water is on the second place, after oxygen. Without meals man can live for six weeks,  without water for five to seven days. Therefore, it is no surprise that during a lifetime a person drinks about 35 tons of water.
